MAJOR ACTIVITY COMMITTEES

Kiwanis Family Day

This event is a fun day for all members of the Kiwanis family of clubs and their familes. The children play mini golf at the Whie Mountain Golf venue and other games followed by a cookout with everyone.

Pete Levesque, Dan Andrews, Jack Lee, Bobby Marquis, Tim George, Janice Andrews, Marie Lee Requires 10 members to set up and run the event and clean-up. Usually held in mid May to early June with K-Kids, Builders Club or High Key Club and Key Club members and families invited.
Kiwanis Coffee Booth at Fryeburg Fair Plan, organize, order supplies, arrange logistics, assign tasks and schedule work shifts to staff week-long operation of Kiwanis Coffee Booth

Jeff Bailey, Chuck Kyle, Roger Aubrey, Bobby Marquis, Dan Andrews All members are asked to do at least one 3-hour shift at the booth during the week. Open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Golf Tournament Planning and execution of Children are Priority One Golf Tournament held at Hales Location in August. Sixteen teams compete for prizes. Committee obtains sponsorships, advertises, and arranges for prizes

Kiwanis Autumn Express Conway Scenic Railroad (CSRR) provides a train for the day for a trip through Crawford Notch. Committee coordinates with CSSR management, effects logistics, publicity, photography, member assignments and food/drinks for the event.

Dan Andrews, Janice Andrews Requires 8-12 members to host/escort passengers on six-hour train ride. Duties include food preparation and serving, photographing riders and delivering souvenir photos, and selling raffle tickets. Occurs mid to late October during foliage season.
Passport Book Discount coupons are solicited from 110 sponsors (restaurants, golf, ski, bakeries, stores, etc.); 700 books sold by members. Our largest fundraiser. All members needed to participate.

Tim George, Dick Ficke, Charlie Zaccaria, Janice Andrews, Allen Gould, Annie Ficke, Liz Hughes Each member is asked to sell a minimum of ten books; members obtain sponsorship contracts, provide complimentary copies of the book to those participating. Sale starts April 1 until sold.
Angels and Elves Our largest project with greatest community impact; approximately 700 children receive winter clothing/toys as gifts from Santa. Planning starts in Oct. Elf Hdq is staffed mid Nov-Dec; correspondence in Jan. Donors and sponsors from the Valley, around the country and Europe contribute over $120K in toys, clothing and labor. Purchasing-Nancy Marquis

All club members are asked to participate either moving supplies and equipment, setting up Elf Hdq, staffing, sponsoring a family, wrapping gifts, buying, maintaining databases and providing as required assistance. This is a huge project. Over haf the club normally participates.
Santa Photo Shoot Our newest project begun in 2010 takes place in a donated store front or tent in Settlers Green. Children and pets pose with our Santas Frank, Jeff and Tony during weekends in late Nov and Dec.

Kennett HS Key Club Our club sponsors over 100 members of the Kennett High School Key Club. The Key Club performs numerous community service projects and has been selected as the most outstanding club in New England many times.

Meets every Monday at 5 p.m. Board meets at 4:30 p.m.

Conway Elementary K Kids We sponsor elementary grade school children in the development of leadership skills and promoting volunteerism.        Darlene Ference Members are asked occasionally to provide transportation and to chaperone events.

Meets every other Monday 3:30-4:45 p.m.

Kennett Middle School Builders Club We sponsor middle school grade children in the development of leadership skills and promoting volunteerism.
